The Batalis Agency values your business, and we appreciate the trust you have placed in us. That is why we're serious about keeping your personal information private. This notice describes how we handle your personal information and what steps we take to protect your privacy, including on our website.


By continuing to use our products and services, including our website, you consent to the policies described in this Privacy Notice.

Electronic Communications

Visiting batalisagency.com or sending emails to Agency constitutes electronic communications. You consent to receive electronic communications, and you agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures and other communications that we provide to you electronically, via email and on the Site, satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.

Children Under Thirteen

The Batalis Agency does not knowingly collect, either online or offline, personal information from persons under the age of thirteen. If you are under 18, you may use only with permission of a parent or guardian.

Information We Collect

We collect certain public and nonpublic information necessary for the pricing, underwriting, and servicing of the insurance products you have applied for or that are already in force with Farm Bureau Insurance. We may also collect similar information from individuals not insured through Farm Bureau Insurance who file claims with us.


Personal Information That May Be Collected: 
In order to make a purchase or to access designated member services and /or restricted areas within our website, the Batalis Agency will request a user to provide certain personal identifying information, which may include name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number. 

By providing your contact information, you acknowledge and give your explicit consent to be contacted via SMS and receive emails for various purposes, which may include marketing and promotional content. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency may vary. Reply STOP to opt out. Refer to our Privacy Policy for more information.

Use of Computer Tracking Technologies 

(a)  Tracking Services. 
The Batalis Agency website(s) does not track, collect, or distribute personal information not entered by visitors. The Batalis Agency partners with third-party service providers who may use tracking to provide services. The Batalis Agency uses Google Analytics to improve the web services we provide. An explanation of how Google uses your information can be found here:

Through website access logs, the Batalis Agency does collect clickstream data and HTTP protocol elements, which generate certain kinds of non-identifying site usage data, such as the number of visits to our sites. This information is used for internal purposes by technical support staff for research and development, user analysis and business decision making, all of which provides better services to the public. The statistics garnered, which contain no personal information and cannot be used to gather such information, may also be provided to third parties.


(b) Use of Cookies. 
The Batalis Agency, or its third-party service providers, may collect non-identifiable and personal information through the use of various technologies, including "cookies". A cookie is an alphanumeric identifier that a website can transfer to customer's hard drive through customer's browser. The cookie is then stored on customer's computer as an anonymous tag that identifies the customer's computer, but not the customer. Cookies may be sent by Batalis Agency or its third-party vendors. Customer can set its browser to notify customer before a cookie is received, giving an opportunity to decide whether to accept the cookie. Customer may also set its browser to turn off cookies; however, some websites may not then work properly.


(c) Use of Web Beacon Technologies. 
The Batalis Agency may also use Web beacon or other technologies to better tailor its website(s) to provide better customer service. If these technologies are in use, when a visitor accesses these pages of the website, a non-identifiable notice of that visit is generated which may be processed by the Batalis Agency or by its suppliers. Web beacons usually work in conjunction with cookies. If customer does not want cookie information to be associated with customer's visits to these pages, customer can set its browser to turn off cookies; however, Web beacon and other technologies will still detect visits to these pages, but the notices they generate cannot be associated with other non-identifiable cookie information and are disregarded.


(d) Collection of Non-Identifiable Information. 
The Batalis Agency may collect non-identifiable information from user visits to the Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies website(s) in order to provide better customer service. Examples of such collecting include traffic analysis, such as tracking of the domains from which users visit, or tracking numbers of visitors; measuring visitor activity on the Batalis Agency website(s); website and system administration; user analysis; and business decision making. Such information is sometimes known as "clickstream data." The Batalis Agency or its contractors may use this data to analyze trends and statistics.


(e) Collection of Personal Information. 
The Batalis Agency collects personal identifying information from customer during a transaction. The Batalis Agency may extract some personally identifying information about that transaction in a non-identifiable format and combine it with other non-identifiable information, such as clickstream data. This information is used and analyzed only at an aggregate level (not at an individual level) to help the Batalis Agency understand trends and patterns. This information is not reviewed at an individual level.


(f) Information from Children. 
The Children’s Online Privacy and Protection Act (COPPA) regulates online collection of information from persons under the age of 13.  The Batalis Agency does not sell products or services for purchase by children and will not collect or post information from a child under the age of 18 without the involvement of a parent or guardian. The Batalis Agency does not use personally identifying information collected from children for marketing or promotional purposes and does not disclose such information to any third party for any purpose whatsoever.

Information We Disclose Outside the Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies

We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our members, former members, customers or former customers to anyone, except with your consent, for external processing, or as permitted or required by law. For example, we may disclose information to consumer reporting agencies, to prevent misrepresentation or fraud, to trusted businesses or persons to process your information based on our instructions and in compliance with our privacy policies and

The Batalis Agency website may contain links to other websites. The Batalis Agency is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of those other websites.

Changes

This Privacy Notice may be updated and revised from time to time. We will notify our customers of any material changes to this Privacy Notice regarding use and disclosure of nonpublic personal information, in accordance with applicable law. Other changes may be made at any time and without prior notice. Please check this Privacy Notice regularly for changes. Your continued use of our services and products, including our website, after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of any such changes.
